Product Overview - Built Around the Ice Cream Business
The SD/SC-378 is a flat glass door solar deep freezer with a 1410 × 700 × 825 mm cabinet and a single, generous storage compartment. Its two flat sliding glass lids sit on a white aluminium frame, so your customers can see the product from standing height without you opening the freezer - fewer door openings means less cold air lost and a more stable internal temperature.
Under the lid, 85 mm of high-density polyurethane insulation works together with an R290 refrigeration system and a fan-cooled compressor to reach and hold ≤ −18 °C. That is genuine deep-freeze territory: hard-scoop ice cream stays scoopable, frozen meat and fish stay safe, and ice stays ice through the hottest part of the day.
The cabinet is designed to be used commercially, not gently. Four pure-white nylon castors make it mobile on rough surfaces. A key and lock keeps stock secure when the kiosk closes. A mechanical thermostat means anyone can operate it, and there is no control board to fail in a humid coastal climate.

1. 85 mm Insulation - The Reason It Survives the Afternoon
Insulation thickness is where cheap freezers give themselves away. In 40 °C ambient heat, a thin-walled cabinet runs almost continuously, drains the battery by midnight, and never quite reaches −18 °C. The SD/SC-378 uses an 85 mm foamed wall, thick enough to meet ST/T climate-class conditions and to keep the compressor off long enough to make solar power practical.
Juka's foaming is carried out in a constant 20–23 °C foaming room, which keeps foam density and cell structure consistent from the first cabinet of the morning to the last of the shift. Consistency is not a cosmetic detail - it is the difference between a freezer that holds temperature for years and one that slowly stops keeping up.
2. Flat Sliding Glass Doors - Display and Deep Freeze at the Same Time
Not many cabinets let you sell and freeze at −18 °C. The flat glass top gives you:

3. R290 Refrigerant and a Fan-Cooled Compressor
R290 is an efficient, low-GWP natural refrigerant, and it is combined here with a fan-cooled compressor. A dedicated fan directs air across the compressor controller, which lowers controller temperature and keeps the compressor stable through long, hot operating days. Inside, the compressor motor is guaranteed 100% copper windings - no copper-clad aluminium substitution.
4. External Condenser for Faster Heat Rejection
This model uses an externally mounted condenser, the configuration that rejects heat more effectively in high-ambient conditions and is easier to service and clean in dusty environments.

Most freezers on the market are designed in, and for, temperate countries with stable electricity. Deployed in 40 °C heat on a grid that fails daily, they fail early - and the warranty conversation that follows is never pleasant.
The SD/SC-378 was specified the other way round: start from the assumption that the ambient is brutal, the power is unreliable, and the nearest technician is several hours away. Then choose the insulation, the condenser, the control system and the materials accordingly.
That is why this cabinet uses mechanical control instead of electronics, an external condenser instead of a hidden one, 85 mm of foam instead of the minimum, and metal in the compressor compartment instead of board.

Quality Control, Step by Step
Foaming takes place in a constant 20–23 °C foaming room, removing seasonal variation from foam quality.
Nitrogen purging on both the condenser and evaporator sections before any pipe connection, to protect internal circuit cleanliness.
Vacuum standard of below 20 Pa. A unit that does not reach spec is not charged with refrigerant - no exceptions.
Two leak tests per cabinet with an INFICON detector: once unpowered, once running.
Constant-temperature test room confirms refrigeration parameters, so units are tested under identical conditions year-round and performance claims stay honest.
Separated production and quality control. Only cabinets signed off by a QC inspector can be packed and warehoused. Production answers to production; quality answers to quality.

Can the SD/SC-378 run completely without mains electricity? Yes. With the built-in lithium battery configuration, the PV panel powers the freezer and charges the battery during the day, and the battery runs it at night, with automatic switching. There is also a mains-free daytime-only configuration for display cabinets used only during trading hours.
What temperature does it reach? It is rated to ≤ −18 °C, which is deep-freeze temperature suitable for ice cream, frozen desserts, meat, fish and other frozen goods.
Which voltages are available? 12 V, 24 V, 220 V and 110 V. You choose the configuration for your market, and DC and AC versions can be produced.
